City Harvest Exec, Ryan VanMeter, talks about feeding the hungry in NYC & giving back

Join Kelli and Anne for their 43rd NEW episode!

They begin this episode by talking about Kelli's work events for the week. Next they talk about the Midterm Election results with Megan Murphy- former editor and Washington bureau chief of Bloomberg Businessweek.

Their Special Guest today is Ryan Van Meter, the Major Gifts Officer at City Harvest, New York City’s largest food rescue organization. They help to feed the more than 1.2 million New Yorkers who are struggling to put meals on their tables. They will rescue 61 million pounds of food this year and deliver it, free of charge, to hundreds of food pantries, soup kitchens and other community partners across the five boroughs. This being November, with Thanksgiving coming, they thought it would be a great time to have Ryan come on and talk about how important it is to give back to others less fortunate especially in the area of hunger and how you can get involved.

As always, they end with a cocktail from Equality Vodka.  This week, in honor of Ryan and City Harvest, they are serving The Orange Harvest!
